Does speaking in English make us Ang moh? does it convert us to ang moh? Did we lost our asian values and culture becos of the ang moh? Yes we might adopt some ang moh ways (like using a computer and owning a handphone) but that doesn't mean we oust our asian cultures.

As long you still see Deepavali, Vesak or Hari Raya.......as long as you see muslim malays in Songkoks, indian in Sarees and Chinese playing lanterns in lantern festivals......our asian culture and asian way is not lost. As long as you can taste chicken rice, nasir brani, mee goreng....our asian culture is far from over. What we did is just intergrate them for the sole purpose of making our lifes easier. I think most of us never wanted to become ang moh.

Honestly, I don't feel a "love" for my "ASIAN" brothers. I largely won't give a shit. There is no such thing as "AzN unity" anymore. To do so is racist, and only favoring one race. So where is equality in this case. In Singapore, its all about meritocracy, what you reap is what you sow. Saddam has and has used his chemical arsenal before, against his own people. Think about it this way. The current issue at hand is the upcoming gulf war.

One hand, are the forces of "freedom & democracy," lead by a nation who is keen on peace and stability to enhance its economic security, and prosperity.

On the other hand you have a dictator, who has in hand, weapons of mass destruction, and has used them in the past for totally unmeaningful purpose. And has been responsible for at least 2 wars in the region.

This conflict is an unfair one. Yes. Because its the Free World Vs Saddam. It is not a war between two nations. But a war against one man, who can be a global security threat in the times ahead.

i think the most important thing when thinking about this issue is to take into account the ambiguity involved.

its not a simple fight between good and bad, right and wrong.

both sides are not fantastically decent people and the methods used are quite frankly, violent and offensive in nature.
